Happy Birthday Pinwheel card

Happy Birthday....  for a summer birthday girl I think a topo map pinwheel would be the perfect birthday card....  I'm playing along with the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party (Summer is the theme) and the CAS-ual Fridays "Map quest" challenge.  And to make life difficult, can you guess where the map is?  (Hint, it's near where I live....).

Make It Monday tag

Happy Monday my friends...  I've made a pretty little tag this morning for the new PTI Make It Monday Challenge (embossed vellum flowers).  In addition to the embossed flower I've added 3 different May Arts ribbons (leaves, sheer tinsel edge and silk), used some Little Yellow Bicycle paper and a doily.  We had a very busy weekend in our little town, for photos of the annual bike race click here.  Busy summer season at the Inn, deep breaths and charge on ahead!

Mood Board card

TGIF...  I was inspired by the WPlus9 Monday Mood Board, love how challenges get me to think outside my box (I'm not sure I'd put these three colors together on my own).  And the Cloud9 Hop is finishing off their year with an anything goes challenge.  I'm excited that I made the first round of the new May Arts DT, woo hoo!  I've used some faux canvas and wrinkled silk on this card.  Hope you all have a great weekend, lots going on in our little town this weekend.....

Happy Birthday and a winner

Happy Birthday CASE Study Challenge style.  I've added a couple of sequins (thanks Maria) so I can play along with the Let's Get Trendy crew.  My background stamp is Hero Arts (I bought their June mystery box on a whim, grin), the wood sentiment and flower stickers are Little Yellow Bicycle, SRM sentiment, May Arts burlap string and a chipboard hexagon that I'm pretty sure I bought through Paper Issues.

And... drum roll please... the winner of my 1000th blog post giveaway is.... ~amy~.  Thanks for the well wishing everyone...

Valerie to do Today

I'm breaking out of my box today for my 365 Cards Super Sketchy project, I've decorated a notebook for my friend Valerie.  Perhaps she'll work on her list of things to do... today!  My notebook is made up mostly of Basic Grey Hipster papers and stitckers, with a bit of washi tape, Echo Park paper and a piece of May Arts ribbon.

(Edited to say, that this was my last project for 365 Cards, I wish Pam and the rest of the crew the best... it's been a fun ride).
To see what the DT has created go check out their blogs and leave some love....

smile tag

A simple CAS one layer tag for this week's CASE Study Challenge, using the new Hero Arts Stamp Your Story stamps and PTI Happy trails stamp and sentiment.  I've tied it together with May Arts sheer ruffle ribbon and twine, smile!  It is ridiculously hot here today, I'm off to go swimming.  I've been on a mission with my work blog, if you want to see some of the summer events in our little town click here for the art walk and here for the classic car show.

the most special thing....

Happy end of school year friends...  I made this card for one of my son's teachers last week to celebrate the end of the school year.  I can't think of any challenges it works for...  but thought I'd post it anyway.

May Arts/Stampendous/Coredinations Blog Hop

Welcome to day #2 of the May Arts, Stampendous and Coredinations Blog Hop.  You should've come from Emily's blog.  Crafty love with homemade goodies, really who doesn't want a jar full of homemade cookies complete with a coordinating card?

There are some some great prizes up for grabs (see below), so hop along and leave a comment for your chance to win.  If you missed yesterday's hop, click here for a list.

To make the label for my jar I combined some stamps (Wplus9 Fresh Baked, Hero Arts Stamp Your Story and PTI) and Stampendous embossing powder.  Once my label was done I wrapped the jar in May Arts faux burlap and organic cotton striped ribbon.

Next up I wanted to make a card, so begin with I pulled out a Gourmet Stamps stencil and inked up the sheet of cardstock with versamark and then dumped a generous amount of Stampendous embossing powder over the whole area and heat embossed it.  I then die cut it out with a Spellbinders label die.  I used a piece of Coredinations card stock and dry embossed it and used the Core sander to add a rustic touch.  I cut out a smaller die with the red card stock and distressed the edges and added some May Arts burlap string around the die cut.

To finish off the card I wrapped a piece of May Arts faux burlap and a piece of woven burlap around the card and added the layers together and topped with some matching dies.

hello times 2

Good morning, I've got a quick post for you, as I really need to get out the door to work (I'm having a sense of deja vu, this is the first Monday morning I've gotten side tracked by the PTI Make It Monday challenge instead of packing my lunch).  This week's challenge is flagged borders, I used some Basic Grey Hipster paper and a sticker and a combination of the PTI Tag It Sale, double sided banner and Ever Day Frames dies.

And I made this last night, a card for the CASE Study Challenge, love Maile's wooden leaves... I've used the Hero Arts leaf stamp and embossed them to add some color.  The hello and arrows are from the new Hero Arts Stamp Your Story line, so I'm going to enter this in their month long challenge to show off their goodies.

And... still time to play along with my 1000th post challenge/giveaway...  $20 gift certificate and a spool of ribbon up for grabs.
